WE, of the United Party Aware of dynamic trends impacting rule-based conduct in national, regional and international governance Committed to upholding democratic values, norms and principles in Ghana, including effective participation, fundamental human rights, the rule of law, the promotion of individual talent, wealth creation and equitable development Recalling that these values, norms, and principles are set out in Chapters 5 and 6 of the 1992 Constitution of Ghana; headlined ‘Fundamental Human Rights and Freedoms’ and ‘The Directive Principles of State Policy’ respectively Recognising the desire of the people of Ghana for political stability, economic growth, and social cohesion as tangible benefits of democratic governance Conscious of the need for transformation in all spheres of national life Believing in the sovereignty of the people of Ghana, wherever they may be in the world Do, in the name of God Almighty, adopt this Constitution.
