What is the United Party (UP)?
The United Party (UP) is a broad-based, centrist party that seeks to build a united Ghana, and accelerate the economic and social transformation of the country by mobilizing the collective strengths and talents of all Ghanaians. The Motto of UP is “Ghana First”. The symbol of the Party is a “Monarch Butterfly”, a symbol of transformation, resilience and endurance. The colours of the UP are Yellow (representing the gold resources of Ghana, Black ( representing Ghana as the Black Star of Africa and White ( representing Purity).

What is the political philosophy of the Party?
The UP is a Centrist Party that seeks to promote balance, compromise, pragmatism, and consensus across ideological divides. It promotes a market-based economy with limited regulations; advocates for social Safety Nets without excessive state control: Balances individual rights with community interest.
How different is UP from NPP?
The United Party represents the original values of the old UP, but has evolved into a Centrist Party to accommodate people of different political persuasions and seeks to promote compromise and consensus. The NPP on the other hand is still a Center Right and Conservative Party, and has even corrupted the old UP values and principles.
Are you not seeking to divide NPP?
The NPP is already a divided party. Our focus is to introduce a new brand of politics in Ghana and win power in 2028 and beyond.
Who are the target members of the Party?
The target members of the parties are as follows:
- Current and past members of NPP who are disillusioned and dissatisfied with the Party, but who still believe in the core values of the UP tradition.
- Independent or floating voters, who are not affiliated to either NPP or NDC, but are interested in promoting Ghana first rather than interest of individuals or political party.
- Grassroot activists of other political groupings who are looking for a brighter future.
- The youth of Ghana aged between 18-45.

What is the relationship between Movement for Change (M4C) and the UP?
The M4C has transitioned into a full political party which is the United Party.
How do you intend to finance your Party?
Through the payment of dues by members and fundraising.
What accounted for your performance in the last General Elections?
It is obvious that we were cheated. 95% of our polling agents were denied entry into their polling stations to observe and protect our ballots. We will comprehensively address this matter in due course, but would want to assure Ghanaians that as a political party this will never happen again.
How different is the UP going to perform in government from the NDC and the NPP?
We already have a blueprint for the transformation of Ghana – The Great Transformational Plan (GTP) – which has been widely acknowledged in Ghana and beyond.
How is the UP going to deal with Galamsey?
We have already issued a Ten-Point Plan to stop Galamsey, which will comprehensively address this national menace.
